Hatch Medical Forms Medical Device Joint Venture

ATLANTA -- Hatch Medical, a medical device incubator and technology brokerage firm, announced it has created a joint venture with Dr. Aubrey Palestrant, who holds several patents on catheter design. The new company, called FlatCath, will develop and market patented vascular access technology to the medical device industry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dr. Palestrant currently holds four patents for technology he invented that is designed to improve catheter longevity and decrease trauma in patients receiving catheter placement.

Hatch Medical jointly develops and brokers minimally invasive medical devices for the diagnosis and treatment of vascular and oncological disease. Through Hatch Medical's program, Hatch's product development staff exchange services and resources for equity in physician-conceived projects.
