EnScaler, which provides platforms and applications for streaming and rich media, said it acquired Lariat Software, a Seattle-based developer of streaming media measurement and broadcast applications. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lariat Software was backed by the principals of Tachoma, Wash.-based Firs Management, an investment management firm. EnScaler said it will retain Lariat's core team, including sales, support, and engineering personnel. The newly acquired employees will be located within EnScaler's new offices in Kirkland, Wash.
EnScaler said it will raise its second round of financing this year, targeting between $5 million and $10 million for sales and business development. The company raised approximately $3 million in its first round. Key existing investors have expressed interest in returning for this round, according to the company.
EnScaler expects to be profitible within the next two quarters.
EnScaler's management team includes Deepak Srinivasan, chief executive; Anu Jagadeesh, vice president of engineering; Tanmay Kar, vice president of operations and corporate development; Robert Liu, chief strategy officer; and Jo-Yew Tham, chief technology officer.
